Mr. Kaplan
Monday, October 22, 2018 - 6:30 p.m.
The Only Movie From Uruguay of the Season!
After fleeing Europe for Uruguay during WWII, Jacob Kaplan built a quiet life. Now 76, he begins to question his worth. After learning of a mysterious German prowling the shores of a nearby beach, he becomes convinced that he's found a Nazi in hiding and plans to expose him. Expertly distilling a potent mixture of emotional depth and deadpan comedy, Mr. Kaplan is a vivacious meditation on family, aging, and the drive for significance.
Throw on your jeans and get your kids in their jammies for a fun and casual Shabbat celebration! Children receive a special "PJ Masks" kippah or hairbow to keep!
5th & 6th Grade Class Dinner
Friday, November 9, 2018 - 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
We are planning a Shabbat dinner for the Rodeph Sholom 5th & 6th graders and their families for Friday, November 9th. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend! We are planning to meet at synagogue for Friday night services at 6 p.m. but will leave after the Kabbalat Shabbat portion of the service (around 6:30 p.m.) to head to dinner together. For a little change of scenery and a more intimate experience, we will be having the dinner in a home instead of at the synagogue. Jamie & Daniel Fernandez have graciously offered to host the dinner at their home, 3320 W. San Nicholas St., Tampa.
The cost per family is $25. Please list names of family members attending in the Notes section when registering.

Memorialize your loved ones
There are many ways to honor and/or memorialize our loved ones. Among the customs in Jewish tradition to honor the memory of those we have lost is to place a yahrzeit plaque on the wall of the synagogue as a permanent tribute.
At Congregation Rodeph Sholom, a yahrzeit memorial plaque may be purchased, for both members and non-members, and affixed upon the wall of our sanctuary.
For information or to purchase your yahrzeit memorial plaque, call the synagogue office at 813-837-1911 or email atinfo@rsholom.org.
Plot space is available at the Tampa Jewish Memorial Gardens operated by Congregation Rodeph Sholom (formerly the New Rodeph Sholom Cemetery). Rodeph Sholom Members $2,250 and Non-Members $2,750 per plot. Price includes perpetual care. Interfaith family section available. Payment plans may be arranged. Please contact the synagogue office at 813-837-1911 or email at info@rsholom.org.
We send out weekly emails with event information, reminders, scheduling times, and other announcements. It's a great way to stay in touch with the community.
