Sisterhood

One of Sisterhood's core functions is to support our synagogue, and we're taking that mission to heart.  We've started the New Year right with a good dose of tzedakah, contributing thousands of dollars in hard-earned Sisterhood funds to Rodeph Sholom for the synagogue's financial needs.  Education is also a sisterhood priority, which is why Sisterhood recently replaced the Sisterhood computer in the office. Sisterhood continues its giving throughout the year, with all kinds of mitzvot that reach into the community as well including a mission supporting Feeding America Tampa Bay .

Here are just a few examples of how we are lending a financial hand to do our part for Rodeph Sholom:

  • Preparing and sponsoring a Shabbat Kiddush Lunch every other month
  • Continuing our Youth Scholarship Program
  • Providing youth snacks for the synagogue's Hebrew and Sunday School students
  • Sponsorship of an "Aged to Perfection" event

Funding these and many more mitzvot is possible only through the generosity and diligence of our Sisterhood members.  That's why we're redoubling our efforts for this year's annual membership drive.  We have a leadership board full of passionate, talented women.  Now we need YOU.  Come join us, and help Sisterhood work wonders!  To sign up to be a part of Sisterhood click here.

Consider joining us at our planning meetings.  EVERYONE is welcome, all ideas are valued!

Hope to see all at our next event!!

What's A Leagram???

Have you ever wondered what those lists are that come in the mail on different color paper every other month?  For those of you who don't know, let us explain....

Sisterhood, as part of our yearly fund raising campaign, provides a means for each member of the congregation to purchase either a Happy Birthday wish or a Happy Anniversary wish for any person appearing on that month's list.  A wish costs only one dollar and you may buy one wish or many wishes.  To send a birthday or anniversary wish contact sisterhood@rsholom.org.

All of the money raised through the purchase of a Leagram is used by Sisterhood to support our congregation.  Proceeds go toward Religious School, scholarships to Camp Ramah and other educational camperships and scholarships, Shabbat kiddushes, Aged to Perfection events, and many more.

For those of you who have been recipients of a Leagram, you know how thoughtful it is to receive one!  Why not become a sender as well, and bring smiles to your friends and family members on their special day.
