 Communal Obligation Letter

Fiscal Year 19-20
(June 1, 2019 - May 31, 2020)

Dear Congregants,
Thank you for your support of our community. The synagogue’s revenue comes primarily from membership dues and Chai members additional contributions, supplemented by fund raising efforts. Our dues program is designed to help meet the synagogue’s budget by distributing the obligation equitably among our members. Dues for 2019-20 have not been raised over last year’s levels.
Beginning this year, we are implementing a new policy (which substantially minimizes staff processing time and effort) that requires dues to be paid via ACH payment by direct debit, unless you choose the annual pay option.  A form explaining this process is included with this letter.
As part of the overall dues obligation, members are asked to support our annual building maintenance through a $200 maintenance fee. The fee is billed annually, in conjunction with your annual dues.
A security fee is already included in all the membership levels listed below.
An Associate Membership is available for members who maintain a full membership in a synagogue affiliated with the Tampa Rabbinical Association or an USCJ affiliated congregation. This membership offers all of the same benefits except religious school and High Holiday tickets.
Chai Society
Rodeph Sholom is blessed by its members who participate in our Chai Society Dues category. These additional dues are extremely important to maintain the financial stability of Congregation Rodeph Sholom. We encourage all who can to participate in the Chai Society.
Sisterhood and Men’s Club
Dues for these organizations can be paid directly to Rodeph Sholom, the annual dues obligation is $36.00 for each club.
Dues Relief
It has always been the philosophy here at Rodeph Sholom that no one be denied membership because of a genuine inability to pay full dues. Members who need assistance with reduced dues or religious school should contact our Executive Director to obtain a Dues Relief package.
