EVERYDAY ETHICS

Throughout the year, Rabbi Hearshen will team with members of Rodeph Sholom and the Tampa community will share their expertise on living ethically, both personally and professionally.

ביקור חולים (BIKUR CHOLIM) VISITING THE SICK

It is a mitzvah (a Jewish religious commandment) to visit and comfort the sick. This selfless act of loving-kindness, gemilut chasadim, is what makes a community special. But sometimes it’s hard to know how to help someone in need. Rabbi Josh Hearshen will lead a discussion about how to visit friends and community members when they are in the hospital or at home.

Wednesday, October 17th and Wednesday, October 24th

THE BEAUTY OF KASHRUT
Rabbi Josh Hearshen will lead an in-depth study of the meaning and practice of kashrut, exploring Torah and Jewish commentary, and how to keep kosher at home. He will also empower those who attend to serve the community by helping with the kashrut for our Rodeph Sholom kitchen.

Wednesday, December 12th and Wednesday December 19th

שבת (SHABBAT) UNIVERSITY

Learn how to celebrate Shabbat at home and in the synagogue. This seminar, co-taught by Rabbi Hearshen and Cantor Kornworcel, will inspire you to enhance your own Shabbat experience.

Wednesday, January 16th and Wednesday, January 30th
