We will sing and get ready for the High Holidays.
We will soon be ushering in the High Holiday of Rosh Hashanah, September 9-11 and Kol Nidre/Yom Kippur, September 18-19. During the High Holidays, many of our members will be called to the bimah to be honored with the opening of the Ark (P'tichah) and other honors as well.
We would like everyone to be able to participate in this part of the High Holiday services, but there are only a limited number of places available. Therefore, as in previous years, we are requesting that those who especially desire these honors, please email highholidays@rsholom.orgno later than August 31, 2018.
Shalom and L'Shanah Tova,
Steven Haubenstock
President
We want to stay in touch...
Caring Committee, Sisterhood, Rabbi Hearshen and Judy Van Der Stelt would like to keep in touch with our college and graduate students who are away at school. Sisterhood plans to send festive holiday packages for Rosh Hashanah and Purim. These will contain greetings and baked treats appropriate to each holiday. Rabbi would like to correspond with these students, keeping them up to date and connected with their home shul. There is no charge, but we need your help in compiling a current list of their names and school addresses. Pleaseclick here to complete this form and return to us by Thursday, September 13th.

Memorialize your loved ones
There are many ways to honor and/or memorialize our loved ones. Among the customs in Jewish tradition to honor the memory of those we have lost is to place a yahrzeit plaque on the wall of the synagogue as a permanent tribute.
At Congregation Rodeph Sholom, a yahrzeit memorial plaque may be purchased, for both members and non-members, and affixed upon the wall of our sanctuary.
For information or to purchase your yahrzeit memorial plaque, call the synagogue office at 813-837-1911 or email atinfo@rsholom.org.
Plot space is available at the Tampa Jewish Memorial Gardens operated by Congregation Rodeph Sholom (formerly the New Rodeph Sholom Cemetery). Rodeph Sholom Members $2,250 and Non-Members $2,750 per plot. Price includes perpetual care. Interfaith family section available. Payment plans may be arranged. Please contact the synagogue office at 813-837-1911 or email at info@rsholom.org.
We send out weekly emails with event information, reminders, scheduling times, and other announcements. It's a great way to stay in touch with the community.
