As the summer is really in full swing it is hard to believe that we are already getting ready for the High Holidays. But the High Holidays are right around the corner and so we are in the midst of preparing for them. I would really appreciate your help again this year with some writing exercises that I would like to share with our community to provide them with some inspiration and learning during our High Holidays. This year I am not asking for so many questions but rather I am requesting submissions for a variety of articles in the yearly publication. Please consider writing and/or submitting for any or all of the following prompts and questions.
Is there a song about a place in the world that you find meaningful? If yes, please send me the name of the song.
Is there a song about unity that you find to be meaningful? If yes, please send me the name of that song.
Have you ever visited a Jewish community from somewhere else in the world or are you from another Jewish community? If so, please write an article about the Jewish life in that place.
Have you ever visited a place in the world and found it to be inspiring? If so, please write an article on that place to help convey your message.
If you have any pictures that you have ever taken that you find to be awe-inspiring...please send them to me to use.
What do you think is the single greatest invention that has ever been created and why? Please try to think of something unique that others would not have also submitted.
Is there an animal that you think represents the Jewish people and why?
I know that these seem like a lot of non-connected items but they will all come together in a great way.
Please send all submissions to highholidays@rsholom.org. The sooner that you send in your submissions the better. Have a great summer and see you soon.

Memorialize your loved ones
There are many ways to honor and/or memorialize our loved ones. Among the customs in Jewish tradition to honor the memory of those we have lost is to place a yahrzeit plaque on the wall of the synagogue as a permanent tribute.
At Congregation Rodeph Sholom, a yahrzeit memorial plaque may be purchased, for both members and non-members, and affixed upon the wall of our sanctuary.
For information or to purchase your yahrzeit memorial plaque, call the synagogue office at 813-837-1911 or email atinfo@rsholom.org.
Plot space is available at the Tampa Jewish Memorial Gardens operated by Congregation Rodeph Sholom (formerly the New Rodeph Sholom Cemetery). Rodeph Sholom Members $2,250 and Non-Members $2,750 per plot. Price includes perpetual care. Interfaith family section available. Payment plans may be arranged. Please contact the synagogue office at 813-837-1911 or email at info@rsholom.org.
We send out weekly emails with event information, reminders, scheduling times, and other announcements. It's a great way to stay in touch with the community.
