With the end of the High Holidays, the Rabbi Search Committee that was formed last year is set to resume its work reviewing applications and interviewing candidates. During the recent town hall meetings to discuss the rabbi search, some members of the Congregation expressed satisfaction with our current clergy and felt that a search for a new rabbi was unnecessary, while others have expressed the view that the committee should evaluate all available candidates. Therefore, the Board of Directors has decided to conduct a survey of the Congregation to gauge interest in continuing with the rabbi search.
When completing the one question survey, please keep in mind that the Board of Directors has determined that Rodeph Sholom will continue to move forward using the single clergy model; in other words, we will not have both a rabbi and a cantor, only one clergyperson.
Please be aware that for this survey to have significance, we must have a response rate of over 50% of “MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING”. THIS MEANS THAT WE NEED EVERYONE TO PARTICIPATE. If you do not receive the information to vote please call the office for assistance. Each family unit has one vote. If you are a family unit of more than one person, please discuss amongst yourselves and determine your vote. Remember, one vote per family. Additionally, if you vote by email, please do not vote by snail mail and vice versa.
All responses will be held in strict confidence.
Please return your response no later than October 20, 2021.
