RODEPH SHOLOM CELEBRATES PRIDE MONTH

Every June, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and honor the diversity of sexual orientation and gender and the generations of activists, politicians, and citizens who fight for their rights and safety.

Stephan and his wife Elisabeth organize a dinner in their house in Bonn. Invited are family friend René, Thomas and his pregnant girlfriend Anna. But the parents of an unborn boy make sure that the evening planned as a cozy get-together suddenly gets out of hand: they announce that they want to call their child Adolf and thus cause a scandal.

On March 6, Michael Berenbaum and Jonathan Ornstein published an op-ed in The Jerusalem Post calling for the creation of a "Holocaust Survivor Day."
In their words, "Holocaust survivors deserve a day of joy; a day of celebration. Not a day to share with condemnation of the Nazis, but a day to celebrate their lives they built in response to the Holocaust. Survivors represent the best in all of us, the best of the human spirit. They are our treasure and our light, and we must shine that light into every dark corner of our world."
 
Rodeph Sholom is joining communities, organizations and individuals around the world as we celebrate the inaugural Holocaust Survivor Day on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 12:00 pm.

Plot space is available at the Tampa Jewish Memorial Gardens operated by Congregation Rodeph Sholom (formerly the New Rodeph Sholom Cemetery). Rodeph Sholom Members $2,750 and Non-Members $3,000 per plot. Price includes perpetual care. Interfaith family section available. Payment plans may be arranged.
