Dear Mayor Castor and City Council Members:  

 Please share this letter with members of City Council.  

 I am a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom on Bayshore Blvd. I know that The Related Group has requested zoning variances in order to purchase land from the Congregation and build new housing.  I hope you and City Council will support granting the variances.  

 Congregation Rodeph Sholom is about to celebrate its 120^th anniversary, with much of that history at this location. A strong congregation serves more than its own members – it serves all of our community as part of a network of many faith communities. The sale would help to protect Rodeph Sholom’s ability to stay put in its present location, while allowing for both improvements to the aging property as well as the creation of new programming.  

 Ongoing development along Bayshore Blvd. seems inevitable as well as desirable. The Congregation and The Related Group have taken a thoughtful approach that addresses our needs as well as a thoughtful approach to bettering the neighborhood and the City.
