Simchat Torah Melodies

Prayer and Tefillah

Simchat Torah means "Rejoicing in the Torah". This holiday marks the completion of the annual cycle of weekly Torah readings at which the last Torah portion is read, immediately followed by the first chapter of Genesis—representative of the never-ending Torah cycle.

Simchat Torah is a time of celebration, with processions around the synagogue carrying Torah scrolls accompanied by singing and dancing.
